Even more commonly, I see \u201cOperations\u201d getting lumped together with marketing and extremely different departments that manage different aspects of the business.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">How to build solid \u201cBuyer Personas\u201d for more effective sales campaigns<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It\u2019s so important to think carefully about your audience, and try to be as specific as possible when defining your ideal customer.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 847px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/photos1.blogger.com\/blogger\/5595\/425\/1600\/Arrested%20Development%20lineup.jpg\" alt=\"get specific with buyer personas\" width=\"837\" height=\"357\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On average companies who generically define their buyer personas as \u201cMarketing\u201d or \u201cTechnical decision-maker\u201d tend to get <\/span><b>10-30x worse results<\/b> <b>from their sales prospecting efforts<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> than those with detailed ICPs.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Whenever possible, try to define:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Which role or roles you\u2019re trying to target (<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">if they have different priorities they should be <\/span><\/i><b><i>DIFFERENT PERSONAS!<\/i><\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">)\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The company size (<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">roles at a 20-person startup are very different than a 2000 person company; a VP Marketing at a 10-person startup probably has less authority and budget than a Director of Marketing at a 300-person company<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Industry &#8211;you don\u2019t always have to segment by this if your business use case is generally the same, but it\u2019s worth thinking about in terms of <\/span><b>what customer examples you reference<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><b>Other firmographic information<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> that determines how qualified a prospective customer is to buy or not (<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">are they hiring, are they growing or shrinking, did they raise money recently, what software they\u2019re using\u2026?<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Example of redefining a Buyer Persona &amp; copyediting a real Cold Email \ud83d\udcdd<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/2I2m_VVQTrw?showinfo=0&amp;modestbranding=1&amp;showsearch=0&amp;hd=1&amp;rel=0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If you found this video helpful, please like it and share it with your friends or coworkers.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">More free Cold Email treats \ud83c\udf61\ud83c\udf66 from my sold-out workshop\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The video I shared is <\/span><b>part two in a Youtube video\/blog series<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, based on my recent sold-out Cold Email Copyediting Workshop.
